These terms describe the next app update with Apple sign-in and direct friend voice chat, and take effect with that update. For older public-room builds, see the September 25 Terms of Use.
You must explicitly agree to these terms before accessing a room or starting face tracking. The updated app uses Sign in with Apple for human rooms and requires an invitation. Free friend rooms include the host and one guest for 15 minutes. A subscriber can host four people total for up to one hour and unlocks chess for the room; Connect Four remains free. Eve is a separate AI companion. Each device includes 5 free minutes of Eve without an account; continued use requires an optional ChatRoom Plus or ChatRoom Pro subscription, described under ChatRoom subscriptions. You must be at least 18 years old to use 3D Chat Room.
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Do not transmit pornography or sexually explicit content, harassment, bullying, hate speech, threats, exploitation of minors, illegal content, spam or impersonation. Respect other participants and stop any interaction they do not want.
There is no public room directory or random matching. Create a room and share its invitation only with people you intend to meet. Invitations expire when their room ends and may be revoked. Free rooms last 15 minutes and admit two devices. Subscriber-hosted rooms last at most one hour and admit up to four devices. The same Apple account may join from more than one device; each device uses one room slot. Do not share sign-in credentials, evade blocks or bans, or invite someone who has been asked to leave. Account deletion is available in the lobby.
The private Friends list is free. A shared friend link allows a request; the recipient must accept before the friendship is saved to both accounts. There is no public friend directory or automatic contact import. You can cancel requests, decline or remove a friend, set a private nickname and replace your shared link. Friend links expire after seven days and pending requests after 14 days. Use friend and room invitations respectfully; repeated unwanted requests or attempts to evade a block are prohibited. Removing or blocking a friend clears the relationship and related invitations. Joining a room still requires your explicit action and the room's normal participant approval.
ChatRoom Plus and ChatRoom Pro are auto-renewable monthly subscriptions sold through the App Store. Both plans include chess with Eve and hosted friend rooms with up to four people total for one hour, including chess for everyone in that room. Guests can join free. Upgrading an active room extends it to one hour from its original creation, not one hour from the purchase. ChatRoom Plus includes 1 hour of conversation with Eve in each monthly billing period and ChatRoom Pro includes 6 hours. The price for your storefront is shown in the app before you buy. Time is counted while Eve is connected, resets at the start of each billing period and does not carry over. Eve talks with one device per subscription at a time; starting Eve on another device ends the earlier conversation. Each device also includes 5 free minutes, which are used only when no subscription time is available.
Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. A subscription renews automatically for another month until canceled. Apple may charge your Apple Account for the renewal during the 24 hours before the next period starts; cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends to avoid the next renewal. Cancel or change plans anytime in your Apple Account's subscription settings, or from Account → Manage Subscription in the app. Canceling stops future renewals; your current period, and its remaining time, continue until it ends. Upgrading from ChatRoom Plus to ChatRoom Pro takes effect immediately; moving to ChatRoom Plus takes effect at your next renewal. Use Restore Purchases on the subscription screen or in Account to restore an active subscription on another device running the same App Store app and signed in to the same Apple Account.
Apple handles payments and refund requests. Request a refund from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com; Apple decides refund eligibility, which can vary by country or region. A refunded or revoked subscription no longer qualifies for paid Eve access or new or upgraded premium rooms. A room already created retains its granted limits and original deadline. Chess with Eve requires a current verified paid subscription; chess in a premium friend room is included for its participants. Eve depends on third-party AI and hosting services; if Eve is unavailable for an extended period, contact the developer. Prices and plan contents may change for future billing periods, with any notice and consent that Apple requires. Nothing in this section limits rights you have under applicable consumer law.
Rooms with friends use built-in avatar artwork. Camera imagery and custom face meshes are not sent to human participants. Live voice is encrypted and sent directly between approved participants, without Google or xAI audio processing or automatic transcription and content classification. Report inappropriate behavior promptly.
New participants remain hidden and muted until you choose Allow Live Content. Each person must allow the other. Approval lasts only for the current room visit. Hide Content Immediately removes a participant's avatar and stops their audio and further sharing. Reporting hides the participant immediately.
Open Participants in a room, or tap a participant's avatar, to access safety controls. Choose Report Content, select a reason, optionally describe what happened, and tap Send Report to flag objectionable content to the developer.
Block & Notify Developer immediately removes the participant's avatar and audio from your view and stops sending your media to that participant. Blocking also sends an inappropriate-behavior report to the developer. If delivery fails, the report is saved on your device, its unsent status is displayed, and it is retried automatically. A block continues to apply while the notification is pending. Local blocks persist across app launches. When the request reaches the service, the verified account is also blocked across its installations. Blocks can be removed from the lobby.
Report metadata contains participant identifiers, the room, time, reason and any description you supply. No face imagery or audio recording is attached. Please give enough detail for the developer to investigate.
The developer reviews and acts on objectionable-content reports within 24 hours of receipt. If a violation is confirmed, the developer removes the offending live content and ejects the participant from human rooms by banning their verified account and linked installation identifiers, including subsequent sign-ins after reinstall or account recreation. Reports are allegations and are reviewed before this action is taken.
The app checks the developer's moderation decisions when entering human rooms and every minute during a visit. Banned participants' content is removed and their media connections are closed. Human media is paused if the safety service cannot be reached, if reporting capacity is exhausted, or if a report has not been resolved by its 24-hour deadline. These controls do not replace the developer's responsibility to review and act promptly.
Live voice is buffered temporarily on participants’ devices for playback and is not saved by the app or uploaded to the room service. AI provider retention for Eve is described in the Privacy Policy. Removing live content stops its display, playback and further transmission. Contact brkuprel@gmail.com to report inappropriate activity, appeal a moderation decision, or obtain help.
Your avatar expression and movement data and live voice audio are transmitted to participants you allow. Captured face imagery stays local, except when explicitly connecting a Mac companion. Only share what you intend those participants to see and hear. AI voice chat separately requires your agreement to send audio and conversation text to xAI, together with short notes Eve keeps about you on your device, which you can erase in Account. The app is licensed for personal use on Apple devices you own or control, subject to Apple's applicable usage rules and Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These community rules supplement that license. The service is provided as-is to the extent permitted by law, and may be interrupted or discontinued. Nothing in these terms removes rights that applicable law does not allow to be waived.
