3D Chat Room
3D rooms for friends on iPhone, with built-in avatars, chess, Connect Four, and direct, encrypted voice chat. Eve is a separate, optional AI companion.
The updated app is for adults 18 and older. Sign in with Apple to chat with friends by invitation. Each room lasts one hour and admits up to four devices. There is no public room directory or random matching. Try Eve for five minutes without an account, then sign in with Apple to continue. No subscription is required.
Help and safety
- Your account: tap Sign in with Apple under Chat with friends. The app requests your name and displays your first name and last initial alongside your photo, at the top right beside the ChatRoom title. Tap your profile to sign out, choose a photo or edit your name in Account; these details are saved on this device. If Apple does not return a name for an existing account, enter it in Account. Account, Privacy, Terms and Report are at the bottom of the main page.
- Invite a friend: tap Create Room, then the Share icon beside the invitation link to send it in Messages. The Copy icon copies the link. Tap Join Room when you are ready, or Cancel Room to close it. Camera and microphone access are requested after joining. You first see a room alone while your phone gets ready, then connect automatically. Hold the phone upright in front of your face; Try Again retries setup and Leave Room cancels it. You can also share from Participants → Invite Friends while in the room. Your friend taps the link to join. If the app is not installed, the link opens the App Store. After installing, tap the invitation again. Each person must allow the other participant before receiving their content.
- Two devices: you can sign in with the same Apple ID on two devices and join the same invitation. Each device uses one of the four room slots. Signing out on one device keeps the other signed in.
- Voice privacy: friend audio goes directly between approved participants, without Google or xAI processing. Only Eve sends audio to xAI, after a separate consent prompt.
- Room controls: tap the Info button at the upper left of the room for a guide. Hold your phone upright and move it around to look into the 3D world. Touch and drag the center to move, hold either edge to turn, and tap a friend’s face icon to go to them. Choose Mirror to customize your avatar.
- Remove content: use Hide Content Immediately to remove a participant’s avatar and audio, or mute your microphone with the mic button.
- Report or block: open Participants & Safety and choose Report Content or Block & Notify Developer. Objectionable content and abusive behavior are prohibited.
- Delete your account: leave the room and choose Account → Delete Account on the main page. Minimal safety identifiers may be retained for abuse investigations and enforcement, as described in the Privacy Policy.
For support or to report an incident, choose Report. Include a description of the incident and the approximate time, plus the in-app report ID if available.
Direct connections depend on both participants' networks. If a room cannot connect, try a different Wi-Fi or cellular network. The app requires iOS 26 or later.
